At both ends of the URSA MAJOR corridor (North Sea, Mediterranean/Adriatic Sea) important intermodal ports are located for container and/or ferry transport, whereas in the centre of the corridor the Alpine area demands for intermodal rail solutions such as container trains or piggy-back solutions. This horizontal activity will analyse the intermodality issue of the implementation projects in UMneo.
An Evaluation Taskforce composed by experts from the different countries has been set up to support the partners performing evaluation, also in coordination with the EU EIP Evaluation group. UMneo will continue to analyse and evaluate corridor wide floating car data coming from commercial data providers. This data allows estimating the current congestion situation for the entire corridor and its daily and seasonal variability and helps prioritising conflicting traffic management measures.
The topic already agreed and to be addressed from the start is roadworks information. Roadworks information will technically be addressed by a taskforce of dedicated data exchange experts.
UMneo will also contribute to the European wide dissemination of such knowledge, experiences and the evaluation results by making the technical reports publicly available and easily accessible in a digital form.
